Tying the Firehole Streamer

The Firehole Streamer

The Firehole streamer was given to me in the early 90's by a fisherman along the Nisqually River in Western Washington, upon finding out that I was brand new to the Northwest fly fishing world. His insistence was that it was the top performer in his box for Sea-run cutthroat. My experience proved him to be right, and down the road it proved to be a very effective streamer for trout everywhere. The pattern and name is exactly what was provided to me at the time.
