Welcoming 2026

Well, 2025 came and went.  I can't say without changes however, since after recovering from a new hip I then took on major back surgery.  Of which, I am still recovering from.  The outcomes have been positive, but in the end I was kept off the rocks for the better part of the year. Save for low water close to home.
Hopefully, 2026 will be different.

  A Christmas Brown

I am still working on a new camera setup for videos, so I figured I would begin the year with a personal favorite. As usual, the bin was empty for this one, so it has provided another good season. The Claret and Gold wet is one of my favorite "confidence flies". I tend to reach for it more than most.

Claret & Gold

A simple 3 material wet fly tied for years under various names.  This is my version.

Hook:  Up-eye wet #14-16
Thread:  Claret Danville 70
