The Turkey Emerger is one of my favorite "dark" patterns. On those high and sunny days when too much flash is not working, this is the pattern I turn to. It has done very well for me across most of Pennsylvania,  and tends to be the bottom fly for me when fishing a tandem rig.

Turkey Emerger Recipe

Hook:  #16-12 Caddis Emerger

Thread: Black Uni-thread

Abdomen:  3-4 Turkey Tail fibers

Rib: Fine Gold Wire

Thorax:  Black Ice-dub

Wing:  Olive CDC

Hackle: Silver Badger Brahma
